Southwest Jewish Congress

Join us in person at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, to hear representatives from Sharaka detail their initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration and mutual understanding between Israelis and Arabs. Sharaka, meaning “partnership” in Arabic, is an NGO founded in the wake of the historic Abraham Accords. Sharaka is working to shape a new Middle East, built on dialogue, understanding, cooperation, and friendship. This panel discussion brings together a delegation of Israeli and Arab young professionals to model civil discourse as they explore the lessons of the Holocaust and their relevance to promoting tolerance and co-existence today.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, was familiar with the horrors of war. However, he was stunned by what he saw in April 1945 when visiting Ohrdruf Concentration Camp, the first Nazi camp liberated by American troops. He invited the media and others to document the dead, dying, and starving prisoners. Join us on Zoom on May 8 at 7 p.m. CT to hear Jason S. Lantzer, Ph.D., author of Dwight Eisenhower and the Holocaust: A History, examine the conviction that shaped Eisenhower’s presidency and solidified American engagement in the postwar world.
